Mr Erasmus Mupfiga studied at the University of Zimbabwe and the University of Manchester where he graduated with the Bachelor of Science Honours in Sociology and the Master of Science in Human Resource Management, respectively. Mr Mupfiga's work experience began in 1990 in the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs where he served as Senior Administrative Officer. He later on joined the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare occupying the post of Deputy Director (Under Secretary). In July 2000 he joined Midlands State University to take up a lectureship in the department of Human Resource Management in the faculty of Social Sciences. During this period he was also appointed Senior Proctor of the University (i.e. from January 2002 to June 2004). In June 2004 he was appointed Deputy Registrar, a position he held until the end of 2008 when he became Acting Registrar. On 1 March 2009 Mr Mupfiga was appointed Registrar of Midlands State University.
