Research at the Midlands State University comes under
the auspices of the University Research Board. The Board
caters for external travel concerned with research and
participation at national and international conferences.
The Board comprises a Chairperson who is an academic
staff elected by the Research Board, Vice Chairperson
who is also an academic staff elected by the Research
Board, a member of the University Council appointed by
council, a representative of each of the five faculties
of the University, the University's Librarian, the University's
Bursar who is secretary of the Board, and the Vice Chancellor
and Pro-Vice Chancellor who are both ex-officio members.
