The duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service and Community engagement– the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services 

(e)Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND GEOSCIENCES: DEPARTMENT OF METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING

1. Post: Metallurgical Engineering Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Professor – Metallurgical and Materials Department (1 Post), Zvishavane Campus 

Qualifications and experience

• • A first degree in Metallurgical Engineering/Chemical Engineering or a related field with at least a 2.1 pass
  • A relevant MSc degree
  • A relevant PhD will be an added advantage for Lecturer
  • Experience as a Lecturer/Tutor/Researcher at an institution of Higher Learning will be an added advantage.
  • Evidence of research output in peer-reviewed journals will be an added advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be capable of teaching modules in Mineral beneficiation, Hydrometallurgy, and related modules. The candidate should also be capable of assisting undergraduate students and assessing students on Work Related Learning.
