STAFF VACANCY

MIDLANDS STATE UNIVERSITY ENTERPRISE DIVISION 

MACHINE OPERATORS- FOOTWEAR (FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

REQUIREMNTS 

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Footwear/Leather/Canvas industry, in a similar role.
• A certificate in the footwear industry would be an added advantage.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in any of the following skills:

• Vamping
• Eyeleting
• Stitching
• Binding
• Quality Control
• Key hand 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:

• Tending specific machines for lasting, cutting, closing, and finishing footwear products.
• Performing routine maintenance on the machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Examining finished products for defects and variations, and reporting faults in machines.
• Working with other team members, including supervisors and engineers, to ensure the smooth running of the production process.
• Adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
