Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following posts:
The duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
(b) University Service and Community engagement– the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services.
(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products.
FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
Department of Governance and Public Management – Gweru Campus
Post A – Political Science and International Relations
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)
Qualifications & Experience
- A first degree in Politics and Public Management/ Political Science/International Relations with at least a 2.1 pass.
- A Master’s degree in Political Science/International Relations.
- A relevant PhD in Political Science/International Relations.
- At least two years relevant teaching experience is an added advantage.
- At least two publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals will be an added advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of supervising students’ research work and should be able to teach the following modules:
- HPSG 106 Constitutional Law
- HPSG 201 International Relations
- HPSG 207 Democracy and Human Rights
- HPSG 103 Introduction to Political Theory
Appointment will be made at the level of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, research output, professional standing, and overall academic achievements.
