The University has noted recent media reports concerning the provision of urgent Computerized Tomography (CT) scan services to a patient at the MSU National Pathology Research and Diagnostic Centre. While MSU remains committed to providing timely and appropriate medical care to those in need, it is concerned that details and visual recordings relating to this medical encounter were captured and subsequently published without the University’s prior knowledge, consultation or approval.

The University recognizes the important role of the media in informing the public and promoting accountability. However, media coverage involving healthcare facilities and patient-related matters must be undertaken responsibly, with due regard for medical ethics, professional standards and the institutional protocols governing access to and recording within healthcare environments.
